Today's Learning Log

HOMEWORK:
1.Read your novel.
2.Study for geography challenge.
3.Finish note taking on chapter one of "Pathways" textbook.
4.Finish questions on "The First Knight".

WHAT WE DID:
1.We took a self assessment on our own effort/completion of work, behavior in class, and understanding of our in class work today. We drew a graph on the past few months, if you think you a an "excellent or exceeding" in that category or time period, then you put a coloured dot there, and so on and so forth. You should have 3 categories. There should also be a goal setting place for January. There is also a sentence about what affected the other in the self assessment.
2.We talked a little bit about the novels that we got.

LEARNING INTENTIONS:
1.For the self assessment, we learned to self assess and to compare that somethings may be affecting another. We learned to look at our behavior/effort/understanding of ourselves in a more objective point of view. We learned that behavior may be affecting your understanding of work because you're not paying attention in class. We learned that your effort may be affecting your completion of work. There are a lot of things that can relate to one another. You can try to fix one of the problems and the others will improve too.
2.Reading a novel can plant interest in you on reading. Reading a novel can also increase your level of vocabulary and grammar. We did not do much for novel studies today, but nonetheless you have to read your assigned book because you have to finish it by next week.

MUDDY OR MARVY:
1.Marvy - I found today's lesson quite straightforward and easy to understand. I understood what the intention was behind doing this.
2.Marvy - For those of you who haven't finished your book over the winter break, try to catch up so you can have your book finished by next week. I understood my book quite well.

CONNECTIONS BEYOND ENGLISH:
1.This self assessment skill helps us understand what our mistakes are and what we can do to fix or deal with these mistakes.
2.This can help you with getting more interest on reading so that in the future you can be interested in times you  have to read.

THE NEXT PERSON TO BE POSTING IS DAVID....
