Today's Learning Log

Homework:
-Finish your book if you have not already done so.
-Try and complete your part in the web of your book.
-Finish the 4 paragraphs (narrative, descriptive, explanatory, persuasive) if you have not already done so.

What We Did:
-We edited and proof-read our partner's 4 paragraphs.
-We filled out a rubric on the criteria of the paragraphs.
-We discussed the main points of our novel with our novel buddies.
-We started the rough draft of our novel web.

Learning Intentions:
-Editing and proof-reading each other's paragraphs is for learning to understand the mistakes in our writing and the places where you can improve. This helps both partners as you have to discuss with your partner as you're editing and proof-reading their work.
-The rubric had the similar purpose of helping us understand the criterias of a paragraph and how to improve on your paragraph.
-Discussing the main points in our novel helps us understand what is a major or important part of a novel and what is a minor part of a novel.
-The draft for the novel web is to gather ideas and thoughts for the actual novel web. The purpose of the actual novel web is to let readers understand what this book is about without having to read the book.

Muddy or Marvy:
Marvy: I found the work today pretty straight-forward and easy to understand. The purpose was clear in today's lesson.

Connections Beyond English:
-This editing and proof-reading skill may help us when we need to look at our-self and find what we lack and what we can do to improve it. It may be when you talk or when you want to interact with somebody.
-All connections I could find as to the novel webs are that this skill may help you understand webs in the future.

The next person posting is David....
