What We Did Today:
As a class today, we did geography challenge for the whole block. During geography challenge, Ms. Lees would repeat a question once and give us 15-20 seconds to write the answer down. She said that this year’s challenge was tougher. Our behavior was pretty good since we made it through 9 rounds without going into lunch. At the end of the block, the winner was announced. Congratulations to Xing Lu for scoring 29 points and being the winner of the class. Also, congrats to Mark, Morgan and Monica for having the top scores of the class.
Learning Intention:
Doing the geography challenge gives us an opportunity to learn about the world such as the different cities, countries, transportation and foods. It also helps us to identify what are our strengths and weaknesses in the different subjects. Finally, it helps us improve on our geography skills.
Reflections/ Connections:
Marvy: I understand that doing the geography challenge is a good practice and opportunity to learn about the world for us.
Having some geography knowledge can help you in your future life. For example, if you were to become an English/ history teacher, you would need to have lots of knowledge about geography skills to teach your students. Also, you would be able to know what countries you would want to go to for vacation since you would know what’s unique about that location.
