What did we do?

First of all, in class we had an activity where you write the memories that stayed in your heart in poin form (list) or web in particular,
a moment in your life
your family
freinds
fears
dreams
secrets

you won't be sharing this information because this is personal. Only Ms.Lees, maybe, will check them.

After, we learned about paragraphs and focused on narrative paragraphs
for example

Definition

-A group of related sentences (five~nine)
-Can be short or long
-Eg. star a new paragraph each time the speaker changes
"hello"
"Who are you?"
"I don't know"
-Short ones easier to read
-Has an introductory sentence
-Has a concluding sentence
-Covers on complete idea only in the topic sentence11 narrative
-tells a series of related events; tells an incidnt or a story
-purpose is to tell story -"first... then... finally..."

how to write a good narrative paragraph

i) Begin with the incident and avoid a long preamble
ii)Is interesting because it includes signficant details rather than general statements
iii) Moves towards a climax and then ends. And we talked a little bit about others that we'll be doing next, such as descriptive paragraph, and expository paragraph.

And That was all we did today

Why ? (Learning Intentions)

-To get an idea of what paragraphs really are
-To improve your writing skills -To prepare for next grades
-To give you a background knowledge

These informations can be very helpful one day for instance when you are writing an essay in university and many other situations.

My Reflections / Connections

Well, there wasn't much people in our class today by the electricity black out. T.T
today, it was great that we learned about paragraph. It helps us like the sentence on 'Why?' section, when you are old enough to get a job and you have to write about yourself, your records, and you can earn three hundred dollars if you win the essay contest on January!!

Writing about 'memories in your heart' was great too. These kind of activity helps when your are writing a paragraph or an essay (when you are looking for a topic) and It helps you brain to exercise and think more deep and wide. It was really fun for me because I thought of many good memories even though there were some bad memories.

Homework:

Write a Narrative paragraph with one of the information that you have wrote in your 'memories in your heart' list on a seperate piece of paper, titled, and double spaced.

Due on Thursday!

Make sure the topic sentence and the ending is clear~

The Next person who will write is Emily Chen

Good luck Arthur catching up! I hope this information helps you~
